Assessments
Assessing children's progress in the learning is a daily part of every lesson. Teachers assess informally to decide on the next step for children's learning and to decide on the effectiveness of their teaching.
Periodically, teachers assess children's progress using assessment papers such as White Rose assessments for mathematics or Rising Stars Reading comprehension these support teachers in making their teacher assessments.
Additionally, children complete standard tests which are set by the DfE.
There are a number of government tests which children complete during their time in primary school.
Year 1 - Phonics Screening
Year 4 - Multiplication Screen
Year 6 - Tests in Reading, Grammar and Spelling and Maths.
